cd-hit software package provides suite of programs designed to quickly group sequences, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install cd-hit
cd-hit is installed in your system.
Make ensure the cd-hit package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep cd-hit *
You will get with cd-hit package name, version, architecture and description in a table
